Ballard Art

The artist moved to the Pacific Northwest almost a decade ago and has been inspired

by the magnificence in one of nature’s last great places! He lives in the seafaring urban village of

Ballard with views over Salmon Bay and Mt. Rainier from his seventh floor garden balcony from

which he observes the world and sometimes paints from this high perch. Prior to the pandemic, he

created his first Seattle work from a studio overlooking Lake Union that benefitted from sweeping

views, some of of them of colorful sailboats racing under the dramatic Seattle skyline rising over the water.

Many of his recent paintings and commissions reflect the vibrant greens of the Emerald City and

surrounding rain forest, framing sparkling flowers that brighten the forest, snow capped mountains

framing blue water, sails coloring the wind.

His recent works have a three dimensional feeling with thick impastos sculpturing the rich colors,

and subject matter appearing to overlap the painting’s golden frame, itself created by the artist.
